Project description

The attic is located in a building of the 80ies in the North of Munich and is inhabited by a young couple that works for the film and game industry (concept artists). The flat has to be entirely renovated and stands out for its poor lay out scheme. We propose a new location for the kitchen so that in the future the flat will be entered through the kitchen. By this, a new sequence of functional areas is created that allows combining them freely. Also the bedroom can now be integrated and opened to the living areas through a new wall opening.
The roof construction is arched. The only facade opens to a terrace to the South. The  walls and roof were realised in concrete with 4cm thick flake board coverings for formwork. For the refurbishment, the ceiling is to be uncovered and glazed in white colour. The project will be realised by the client in self-construction.

Projektbeschreibung

Die Dachgeschosswohnung befindet sich in einem 80er Jahre Bau in München Schwabing und wird von einem jungen Paar bewohnt, das für die Spiel- und Filmbranche arbeitet (concept artists). Die Wohnung muss komplett saniert werden und hat einen ungünstigen Grundriss. Wir schlagen eine Verlagerung der Küche vor, so dass man die Wohnung zukünftig direkt über die Küche betritt. Dadurch ergibt sich eine neue Sequenz an funktionalen Raumzonen, die fliessend ineinander über gehen. Auch das Schlafzimmer lässt sich nun über einen neuen Wanddurchbruch integrieren und zum Wohnbereich öffnen.
Die Deckenkonstruktion ist ein Halbtonnengewölbe. Die einzige Fassade öffnet sich nach Süden zu einem Balkon. Die Wände und Decken sind in Stahlbeton mit einer 4cm dicken, verlorenen Schalung aus Pressspanplatten realisiert. Für den Umbau soll die Stahlbetondecke freigelegt und weiss lasiert werden. Die Bauarbeiten werden von dem Bauherr in Eigenregie realisiert.
